DJI Mavic Air Key Features

The Mavic Air is as close to a jack-of-all-trades that you can get these days, so let's take a look at some of the key features included in this drone.

Portability

To say that the Mavic Air is portable is almost an understatement. With wings that fold into the body of the drone, it can fit into virtually any bag and possibly even pockets. But the size reduction doesn't stop there. The remote controller also folds and includes detachable thumbsticks to create an all-around portable package. DJI Mavic Air remote controller

Image Quality

Fitting a 4k camera onto such a portable drone must not have been easy, but DJI has found a way to do it. Now you can shoot 4k footage at 30fps or 1080p footage at 120fps virtually anywhere you want.

Stability

Even with the drone's compact body, it's able to hold its own in some serious wind and altitude thanks to its 3-axis mechanical gimbal. The Mavic Air is the first of its size to house such an advanced gimbal and is able to reduce vibration to 0.005°. On top of that, triangular gimbal dampeners help create even more stable shots than ever before.

New and Improved Panorama

With the new Mavic Air, 32 MP Sphere Panoramas are now possible in addition to the previous Horizontal, Vertical, and 180° panoramas. In just eight seconds, the Mavic Air is able to stitch together 25 photos to create some truly breathtaking visuals. DJI Mavic Air panorama shot DJI Mavic Air

FlightAutonomy 2.0

The Mavic Air just might be the safest and easiest drone to fly thanks to the new FlightAutonomy 2.0. The new system consists of a primary gimbal camera, forward, backward, and downward dual-vision sensors, downward infrared sensing system, IMU redundancies, and a group of computing cores. All of this technology works together to send information to the drone so that it can hover more precisely and fly better overall. In addition, the new Advanced Pilot Assistance Systems (APAS) allows the drone to recognize obstacles and actively move around them, all without stopping. All of this coupled with an even more reliable Return to Home (RTH) feature creates an overall safer, more stress-free flying experience.
