How Does Blu-Link Work?
The live video feed from the drone travels from the drone controller (or tablet) into the Blu-Link via an HDMI cable. From the Blu-Link, the video can be streamed in several ways (listed below) all simultaneously and viewed on any smartphone, tablet, laptop, or computer using the “VLC” app / program:
- Users can watch the live feed remotely, anywhere in the world, via the Blu-Link’s secure static IP Internet link
- Users can watch the live feed locally over the Blu-Link’s WiFi connection while co-located with the box (must be within approximately 500 to 1000 feet from the box, depending on the terrain)
- An HDMI output port on the back side of the Blu-Link allows direct viewing on any size monitor/TV (i.e. command-post TVs, supervisor vehicles, SWAT monitors)
- If your agency has a video management system (VMS), the live feed from the Blu-Link can be ingested into your existing system from the LTE/4G cellular static IP address
- While connected directly to your agencies network either via the WAN port or WiFi, the Blu-Link feed can be viewed locally on department computers
Note: Streaming can be accomplished using any single method above, or multiple, or all methods simultaneously.
