Is the Teal 2 officially on the DoD Blue UAS Cleared List?
Yes. Teal 2 was added to the Blue UAS Cleared List in June 2023 and is authorized for U.S. government / DoD operations without additional waiver paperwork.
How long will the aircraft stay aloft in real-world conditions?
In temperate weather (59 °F / 15 °C) at sea level, Teal 2 averages 28–32 minutes of mixed flight (cruise, hover, gimbal movements) using a properly conditioned performance battery.
Does Teal 2 comply with the FAA Remote ID rule?
Yes. The platform received FAA Remote ID certification in August 2023 and broadcasts its identification and telemetry whenever airborne, meeting 14 CFR Part 89 requirements.
What wind speeds can Teal 2 safely fly in?
The aircraft is rated for sustained winds up to 18 mph (16 kn) and gusts to 25 mph (22 kn). Operators should allow extra margin when launching or landing in confined areas.
How secure is the command-and-control link?
All telemetry and video are protected with AES-256 encryption. Keys are user-generated on first boot and can be zeroized in the field for mission security.
Which thermal palettes are included out of the box?
White Hot, Black Hot, Hottest (isotherm), Arctic, and Ironbow are pre-loaded. Additional palettes can be sideloaded via microSD if your workflow requires a custom LUT.
Can Teal 2 be controlled from third-party software such as ATAK?
Yes. The MAVLink-compliant flight controller streams standard telemetry, and the TAC ground station outputs Cursor-on-Target (CoT) for ATAK and other common C2 ecosystems.
How far can I fly if I switch to a 900 MHz radio set?
This 2.4 GHz configuration provides a 3.1 mi (5 km) FCC-rated range. A 900 MHz module is in final testing; early results show 5–6 mi (8–10 km) depending on antenna selection.
What field charging options are available?
The dual-bay charger accepts 110–240 V AC or 18–35 V DC input. A NATO slave-battery cable and 12 V vehicle plug are included for expeditionary recharging.
Is the EO/IR gimbal swappable?
No. The Hadron 640R sensor block is factory-aligned and sealed. A daylight-only gimbal is planned, but payload swaps are depot-level actions, not user field swaps.
What warranty or service coverage is included?
Every system ships with a 12-month limited warranty covering manufacturing defects. Optional Gold (24-hour RMA) and Platinum (advanced replacement + accidental damage) plans are available through Advexure.
Can multiple Teal 2 aircraft fly simultaneously from one TAC controller?
Yes. Multi-Vehicle Control mode supports up to four airframes, providing either a 360° view on a single target or simultaneous ISR on multiple targets.
