Which aircraft does the DJI Matrice 4D Series Obstacle Sensing Module support?
It is compatible with both the DJI Matrice 4D Series and the DJI Matrice 4 Series. When installing on Matrice 4 Series drones, a bottom bracket must be fitted on the Obstacle Sensing Module first.
What precautions should be taken when installing the module?
- Power off the aircraft before installing or removing the accessories.
- Use a hex key (if necessary) to tighten all screws and ensure each interface is well-sealed. If you’re using the dock, attach the included LiDAR positioning label to the dock cover as instructed.
- After installation, go online to activate the module. If prompted, update the firmware to the latest version.
What should operators keep in mind while using the Obstacle Sensing Module?
- Keep the radar dome clean to avoid reducing obstacle detection accuracy.
- Rain, snow, fog, dust, or fast-moving objects can affect obstacle avoidance performance. Due to limitations in the safety system, the aircraft cannot automatically avoid objects moving at high speed. Be prepared to take manual control if needed.
How do I update the firmware for the Obstacle Sensing Module?
Simply attach the module to your aircraft. It will update simultaneously with the drone’s firmware. You can initiate firmware updates by:
- Performing a one-click update in the device management page of DJI FlightHub 2.
- Connecting the aircraft to a computer and using DJI Assistant 2 (Enterprise Series).
- Using the firmware update option in the DJI Pilot 2 app’s main interface.
- Following the “consistent update for all modules” prompt in DJI Pilot 2.
