The wait is finally over! We've all been wondering what DJI had in store for us this season. Some speculated that it would be a Phantom 3, others thought maybe a fixed wing aircraft. The wait and suspense is finally over and today the multi-rotor community was introduced the new DJI Inspire 1 which is a ready-to-fly professional flying camera platform.
What does the DJI Inspire 1 have to offer?
The DJI Inspire 1 features an integrated 4K Video Camera which allows for pristine aerial footage along with 13 megapixel stills which can be captured in both JPEG and DNG RAW formats. Our early interactions with the Inspire lead us to believe it to be the next step up from a Phantom 2 Vision+. The Inspire 1 enables you to take your flying to a whole new level by packing professional features into an easy, ready-to-fly unit. A very exciting new feature to the Inspire is DJI's Optical Flow Sensor. This technology enables the Inspire to watch and monitor movement with the ground in order to hold it's position. This features allows for improved indoor flying where a GPS signal may not be attainable. The ease of indoor flight assisted by the Optical Flow Sensor is a very exciting feature to the drone industry as there is no other unit on the market that allows for stable and controlled indoor flight with ease.
